Private Residence
Horsehead Bay, Gig Harbor, WA

GOAL:
My clients’ daylight basement was ruined by a flood.  We needed to start from scratch to create a unique, welcoming entertaining suite.

CHALLENGE:
This project was unique in that the clients’ didn’t elect to remodel the space but rather were thrust into it after the flood.  So time was definitely of the essence as half of their home was not livable.  But seeing as this was the one area of the home that had not been updated, we looked at this as an opportunity to give these two professionals, who entertain often, a space with high end fixtures and finishes to comfortably fit 100 guests.

RESULT:
We added a full entertainment kitchen, featuring a wine captain, keg refrigerator, refrigerator drawers, dishwasher drawers, microwave and a custom copper sink.  The walnut kitchen and bar shelving were completely custom, down to recessing the channel supporting the glass shelves into the wall so it appears the glass is floating. A 700 bottle wine cellar and new gas fireplace flanked by built in seating round out the functional changes.  A massive custom sectional allows for dozens of guests to watch sporting events on the 80” television.
