To create stunning yet family friendly spaces in a phased approach.

My clients, a physician and her husband who had moved extensively for schooling and residency, had the standard post-residency furniture accumulation of hand-me-downs and Ikea pieces, none of which worked in such a grand home.  They wanted to tackle the home room by room and since the husband’s passion is French cooking, we started with the dining room.  The walls were layered in a textured plaster technique and hand painted in a Chinoiserie motif in their favorite purple hue.  Ten oversized, custom upholstered chairs surround the vintage Henredon table, allowing guests to linger comfortably.  The beautiful large scale Ikat fabric used for the draperies was repeated in the adjacent living room on the grand 23 foot wall of windows.  And as fate would have it, shortly after completing the dining room and beginning the living room, the physician took a new position which moved the family to Michigan.  Such is life!

A beautiful start for a beautiful home.
